As others have mentioned, the Pre-LCI cars are not as well supported as you would hope. It’s an expensive diagnostic tool considering the WiFi OBD adapter is more than the app.
Perhaps the most glaring omission is the inability to reset the adaptations on the e9X generation cars. This is often a huge help in resolving various engine and transmission issues. This is usually a minimum charge at any indy shop that I’d love to avoid. Seems just as useful (if not more) than clearing service info.
If the Pre-LCI cars were better supported it may be worth it, but honestly, I’d skip it if I didn’t have to register a battery.
