Carly for BMW Pro (Old Vers.) App Reviews

Using the Carly wifi obd connector, I am getting major connection issues to vehicle with this update. Comparing it to the prior version, the prior version connects right away. Luckily I still have the older one on another device to be able to compare. Please try fixing this as soon as possible

This app along with the required hardware is phenomenal! If you have ever coded a BMW with a laptop the fear and anxiety is gone with Carly! This setup makes it so easy anyone can do it! A must have for any BMW owner!

Tried to activate the digital speedometer. Did everything as instructed, using Gen II adapter and latest software. Coding did NOT work and left a warning icon on the display. Restoring the original specs seems to have fixed the problem but still no digital speedometer. In my experience the F-Series coding does NOT work.

This app is good to use for diagnostics, and to reset battery and engine light(cost extra) but not for coding the PRE LCI i-drive(before 2008)consumers. ive been asking about when or if they will have an update for the PRE LCI consumers. so if youre not PRE LCI, i would definitely recommend.

As others have mentioned, the Pre-LCI cars are not as well supported as you would hope. It’s an expensive diagnostic tool considering the WiFi OBD adapter is more than the app. Perhaps the most glaring omission is the inability to reset the adaptations on the e9X generation cars. This is often a huge help in resolving various engine and transmission issues. This is usually a minimum charge at any indy shop that I’d love to avoid. Seems just as useful (if not more) than clearing service info. If the Pre-LCI cars were better supported it may be worth it, but honestly, I’d skip it if I didn’t have to register a battery.
